Presidential elections: impact of social media

Modern presidential campaigns and, in general, electoral cycles are accompanied by constant Internet penetration. Given the circumstances that the development of social media entails an increase in audience, the political sphere cannot be left out. This is due to the need to mobilize target audiences in accordance with the objectives of election campaigns and interest groups. Accordingly, it is important for candidates applying for presidency to be able to correctly use the social media resource.

In this article, the author examines the forms of political mobilization in the framework of using social media in the US presidential campaigns. There is a need to understand what are the features of manifesting the potential of Twitter for organizing effective election campaigns despite the fact that for Russian political reality this social network is not widespread, as in the United States.

Socio-political context of the movement of the "Yellow Jackets" in France

The Yellow Jackets Movement in France is one of the new social and political movements of the social protest, associated with the disappointment of the active part of French society in its own political establishment, traditional national political parties and in their ability to lead the country out of the systemic crisis. The authors of the article link the Yellow Jackets Movement with the onset of the Postmodern context, when traditional ideologies and mechanisms of political mobilization do not work, are increasingly being replaced by social networks. French society, having experienced disappointment during the "crisis presidency" of N. Sarkozy and "weak presidency" of F. Hollande, consolidated around the "centrist platform" of E. Macron, what allowed him to confidently win the presidential elections of 2017. At the same time, the liberal reforms initiated by Macron, carried out without the necessary dialogue and feedback from society, provoked a large-scale protest, the prospects and consequences of which are still difficult to predict.

Keywords: Yellow Jackets Movement, social crisis, social protest, social networks, political establishment, network policy, political default.

Risk avoidance in international logistics in the CIS countries from the point of view of cross-border e-commerce in the framework of the “One Belt, One Way” initiative

The cross-border e-commerce transaction volume of countries along the “Belt and Road” has been increasing year by year, and cross-border e-commerce has brought new markets to the development of international logistics. But owing to the multiplier effect of international transport corridors, the operation of international transport corridors in various fields, including the operation within the CIS, not only brings great advantages and benefits to participating countries, but also leads to differences in infrastructure, laws and regulations, geographical features, customs clearance, etc among countries. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and study the impact on international logistics risks in the above aspects.

The article analyzes the “Belt and Road” international transportation corridor. Based on the cross-border e-commerce background, it studies the current situation of international logistics in the CIS countries and discusses its risk factors and prevention and control measures. The practical value of this article lies in the correlation between the international logistics risks explored by the CIS countries under the background of “Belt and Road” cross-border e-commerce, and taking feasible preventive measures with reference to international experience.

The status quo and improved food safety risk communication mechanism in China

Ensuring public participation, strengthening joint management and sharing of information when reporting on food safety risks does indeed have a significant effect. Although in China, from the point of view of the information disclosure system, a legislative framework has been created for informing about risks related to product safety, however, from the point of view of the functioning of the system, there are institutional obstacles, such as unequal status of risk informants, asymmetries in obtaining information, imperfection in ways to help. In connection with the practical implementation of the new “Food Safety Law”, the articles of the law propose, on the basis of healthy openness of information, increased public participation, increased reliability of information, and strengthened legal assistance, to improve the legislative system for risk communication to ensure food safety in China.

Keywords: risk communication, effect, assessment system, improvement paths.
